Andie Aagard was a pleasant surprise to the State and country this season. The junior entered her first XC season on what was thought to be a rebuilding Lone Peak team, but instead, ended up winning the team title and Aagard the individual title. Aagard would go on to win the Southwest Title and lead her team to a 4th place finish at Nationals. Lone Peak returns all seven of their runners from that state team and will seemingly be an unrivaled force heading into 2023. Avalon Mecham will be in the hunt, hoping to secure her first individual state xc title. Mecham was the runner-up in 2021 and 2022.
