The class of 2022 was arguably one of the most competitive groups of male sprinters in Utah prep history. There were a total of 18 athletes who ran under 11 seconds for 100m and eight athletes who ran under 22 seconds for 200m. In the 100m, there was a three-way tie for the top time of the year between Pine View's Marcus Mckenzie, Roy's Parker Kingston, and Skyridge's Smith Snowden, who all ran 10.54
In the 200m, Cody Hagen of Corner Canyon was the only boy to break 21 seconds this season when he ran 20.97 at the Utah State Championships. Hagen also had a season-best of 10.62 in the 100m.
Finishing up with the 400m, Cody Hone of Bingham was the only boy to break 48 seconds when he won the 6A class title in 47.86. Hone was just behind Hagen in the 100m rankings with his best effort at a 10.71.
