Like the boy's sprint field, the girls were equally as deep in talent, and this year, we saw a particular group of girls each break records and contribute to what might be known as the fastest year of girls sprints in Utah Prep history.

In the 100m and 200m, Fremont's Amare Harlan led the way, finishing the season with personal bests of 11.58 for 100m and 23.70 for 200m, both of which stand as the overall state records for those events.  A fun fact is that the 200m 5A and 4A state records were also broken this year.  Sarah Ballard of Lehi lowered the 5A record in the 200m to 24.15, and Kristin Cook of Snow Canyon dropped the 4A 200m record to 24.04.

In the 400m, the overall leader in ending the season was Marianne Barber of Farmington.  Barber ran 55.30 at the Utah State Championships to win the 6A state title.  Barber finished second in the 100m with her 11.77 and second in the 200m with her 24.00.
