American Fork repeated as the 6A runner-up for the team competition back in 2020 after a phenomenal season led by freshman sensation Avalon Mecham. Going into the 2021 cross country season, AF returns all seven of its varsity runners from their 2020 state team!
The American Fork girls have already opened up their season with a dominating win at the Premier Invitational scoring 17 points and placing its top five runners in the top six places overall! It's been two years since the AF girls won an xc state team title. They are in a good position to take bath the crown but they will have to battle a strong Lone Peak team who will be regrouping after losing their top two runners from last season.
Throughout the 2021 cross country season, we will be maintaining all-classification subjective cross country rankings for the state of Utah. Our initial release this week will be pre-season top 10 rankings for individuals and teams for the state of Utah.
These rankings take in numerous factors including performances from the last cross country season as well as improvements made during the track season.
