Top 2021 Team Finishes: 1st at Region 9, 1st at Utah Class 5A
Coach: Samantha Smith
Analysis: The Springville girls have the longest-standing win streak at State with four consecutive titles. All of the girls currently on the team have only known success, and it has developed a winning culture at a team that is gaining recognition as a powerhouse program in a competitive state. Springville returns all seven of their runners from their 2021 state championship team. Their top five girls are all under 19 minutes for 5000, with top runner Emily Sumsion knocking on the door to break 18. Springville ranked 1st amongst returners in 5k average, 3-mile average, and 3200m average. With all of the long-distance events covered, the Red Devils are on their way. Springville had a good opener at the Premier Invitational, where they placed second overall without all of their varsity runners in attendance. Even short-handed, they were able to come away with a second-place finish. However, they'll need to be at full strength if they hope to hold off American Fork and their new additions and prevent eager teams such as Mountain View and Timpanogos from toppling their 4-year streak.
