State MileSplit50 Girls Team #2: American Fork

Analysis:    American Fork takes the second spot on our pre-season team rankings.  Coming off that high of winning the 6A state title and defeating their rival Lone Peak, who has held the top place for the past couple of years, the American Fork girls were on cloud nine and gave their talented seniors a proper sendoff.  Avalon Mecham and Natalia Botlz are left to pick up the pieces and work to keep their team in contention to repeat as state champions.  American Fork has a new freshman Sophie Steiger who ran an incredible race at the Premier Invitational, and she will be a real asset to a team that wants nothing more than to defend its title.
