Natalie Swain came oh so close to breaking that magical barrier, that is, the five-minute mile. She ran 5:00 for 1600m at the BYU HS Invitational and ran 5:01 for the full mile down at the Greatsouth West, where she placed third overall. Natalie managed to dip under 11 minutes in the 3200m when she placed 4th in the 6A 3200m final. Swain is one of the top returners for the 6A girl's cross country meet. She placed 8th overall last year and ran her best 5000m time there in 18:12.90
