How did you first get started running?

I started running track in 7th grade and fell in love with running!

Favorite Workout?

Mile repeats!

Least Favorite Workout?

Anything with hills.

What was the greatest obstacle you've had to overcome in your high school career?

My junior XC season ended on a negative note after a disappointing finish at the state meet.  Followed by a terrible race at Border Wars. Because of this, I really struggled with my mental game during my junior track season. I lost all my confidence and stopped believing in myself and it affected my track times. After every race I would sit on the ground and cry because I knew something was wrong inside my head and I didn't know how to fix it. I felt helpless and discouraged. It took a while but with the help of my amazing coaches and loving parents I was able to overcome this obstacle and now my mental game is stronger than ever!

How do you prepare yourself mentally and physically for a race?

To prepare myself mentally, I always talk with my coaches about the goals that I have for that certain race. I also do visualization before each race. Physically, I make sure that I get 9-10 hours of sleep every night to make sure that I am rested and ready to run fast! Most importantly, I trust in myself that my body will perform how it needs to and that my mind will help push my body to its limits.

Any Pre Race superstitions?

I always wear the same earrings, bracelets, and necklace on race day and I always do yoga the night before a race.

Most memorable race?

XC state 2021 was freaking awesome. Winning the 6a state title with my team and earning all state honors is something I will never forget!

What is the best piece of advice you have received from either a coach or teammate?

My coach Lindsey once told me that "the magic starts to happen when I start believing in myself." I think about this a lot and use it to help me become a better runner.

Where are you at on college decisions?

I plan to continue my xc and TF career at BYU! I am SO excited to run in college!

What are the top 3 goals you wish to accomplish before you graduate?

  • Run some crazy fast track times
  • Place well at state track 
  • Enjoy the rest of my HS career

Summer because summer training is so fun!

How many pairs of running shoes have you gone through in your lifetime?

At least 25, I lost count a while ago.

What's something that's on your bucket list?

I want to go scuba diving!

If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be?

Being able to fly would be pretty nice!

What's one fun fact about you?

I'm a triplet!
