How did you first get started running?
I was pretty much born into a running family. My mom and dad met when they were both running together in college. I ran cross country with my rec center in elementary and junior high.
The GRINDER! A 1.3-mile hill. Bring it on!
Least Favorite Workout?
Mile repeats around the American Fork Hospital.
What was the greatest obstacle you've had to overcome in your high school career?
Getting adjusted after moving to American Fork from Herriman after my freshman year.
How do you prepare yourself mentally and physically for a race?
Mentally-I definitely get excited for races, but I try to think of racing as doing a workout so that I don't get too worked up.
Physically-As we all know, eat well, drink well, and sleep well.
Any Pre Race superstitions?
Actually, no! I try to be super flexible so I'm not tied down to a certain routine.
Most memorable race?
Border Wars at Sugarhouse Park! It was super fun to race on the old state course. Also, winning the team title at Nike Southwest Regionals on November 20th was amazing!
What is the best piece of advice you have received from either a coach or teammate?
I've had some awesome coaches! Coach Barnes at Herriman told us that when you give 100% everyone will be happy. He says to plan your race, and race your plan! My current coaches Lindsey and Bruno tell us not to compare ourselves to others. They teach us that finding happiness in our own individual PRs and improvements will help us keep improving. They also tell us that hard work will eventually beat out sheer talent, so keep working!
Where are you at on college decisions?
I'm going to be running for BYU next year!
What are your top 3 goals you wish to accomplish before you graduate?
-Place well as a team at RunningLane XC in Alabama (nationals)
-Break 11 minutes in the 2 mile (and then some)
-Get down to a 5-minute mile
Harry Potter (all of them!), Cast Away, and The Count of Monte Cristo

Fall. I love xc, the temps, and the colors.

Besides track, not really. But I really love to hike!
How many pairs of running shoes have you gone through in your lifetime?
I think around 15, but honestly, I've lost count.
What's something that's on your bucket list?
Visit England, Scotland, and the Netherlands
If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be?

What's one fun fact about you?
