Top 2022 Team Finishes: 5th at region 4, 2nd at Utah Class 6A
Coach: Courtney Meldrum
Analysis: Woah, okay! Pump the breaks. We know how this looks. How does the most dominant girls program over the last 4-5 years fall to 10th in the rankings? Lone Peak had a senior-heavy squad this past season and only returned two runners from their 2021 state team. Boston Bybee, who appeared as our tenth-ranked individual, will be an excellent star runner for the Knights, but can they add another star or two next to her to be able to compete in a deep 6A classification? Among returners, Lone Peak ranked 9th as a team in the 1600m, 13th in the 3 Mile, and 7th in the 5000m. They've got some rebuilding to do, but they have some of the best coaches in the State who have an outstanding record of developing young talent, so we can see this young team move up the rankings as the season progresses.
