Similar to the 1A race, it would come down to two athletes breaking the 17 minute barrier, though it would be much closer. Devin Mesquite was 7th in 2014 and moved up, but denying him the jump all the way to the top was Jace Richins. Richins followed up his Region victory with an even more impressive first place finish to earn a State Championship.
While Emery and North Summit were locked in a battle for the runner up position in the 2A race, the lead Millard duo would prove the deciding factor. Calvin Bell and ParkerStevens would help their squad defend the 2014 state title.
