For the girls returning distance runners, there are a lot of familiar faces set to hit the track. In the 800m, Caroline Moon of Lehi leads the way with her time of 2:18. Moon is the only returner with a time under 2:20 in the 800m. Kaylee Hale of Park City and Halle Mehr of Skyridge are the next two on the list, both having run 2:22. In the 1600m, and it's the 5A state champion Jane Hedengren of Timpview who ran 5:04.99 last season at the UHSTCA Indoor Championships. Hedengren had a historic outdoor season last year, where she ran 4:50 in the 1600m as a freshman. She definitely has what it takes to break five this indoor season. Behind Jane will be American Fork's Avalon Mecham and Mountain View's Mari Konold, who both ran 5:06 last season. Finally, in the 3200m, Corner Canyon has a trio of sub-12 runners leading the way. Lindsey Glod, Paige Rhoads, and Anna Nelson all ran 11:51 or better last season in the Utah Distance Challenge, where they went 3-4-5.
