Like the girls, there were very few shot-put performances from 2021 due to the lack of meets that held this event. Of the 41 recorded shot put performances from last season, 17 of those athletes will be returning to this season. That's more than half of that field's participation lost to graduation. But with bigger indoor meets that will have field events such as the BYU Meet and Weber State, things are looking to get back on track for 2022. Our top-shot put performer from last year, Mark Bryant of Orem, is the top returner for this year's indoor season. With his best of 52-7 coming from the Salem Indoor Invitational, there's no telling how far he'll throw this year.
