Elyse Jesen dropped five seconds off of her season best in the 800m this past weekend at the REP Distance Challenge. The BYU signee ran 2:15.30 which is the fifth fastest time ever run at this meet for that event. Elyse was one of the nation's best 800m runners last season and she won the 6A state title for that event. Elyse has also been competitive in the 200m and 400m events as well. Jessen was registered to race the 1600m at the REP Distance challenge but ended up just running the 800m. Could we see the star middle-distance runner make a 1600m debut this outdoor season?
