Avalon Mecham of American Fork completes her sophomore year once again as head of her class. She ended the 2020 xc season as the fastest freshman with a time of 17:05. She was able to drop that time down to 17:02 this season, and she was the only sophomore girl to run under 18 minutes for 5000m. Springville's Emily Sumsion followed Mecham, who ran 18:09 at the Team SW Regional. Mckayla Boulton of TImpview rounds out the top three with a time of 18:17 from the Timpanogos XC Invitational.
