Boys Leaderboard

1. Farmington - Our number one team opened up their season last weekend with a dominant win at the Top of Utah XC Invitational by taking the first four spots overall and its fifth runner ended up 9th overall.  This is a very talented squad and they will be facing off against an even deeper field at the BYU Autumn Classic this upcoming Saturday.

2. Mountain View - Mountain View has proven they deserve to be in the conversation for best team in the state with their upset win over American Fork at the Timpanogos XC Invitational!  Being led by Liam Heninger, the bruins we'll be some fierce competition for Farmington at the BYU Autumn Classic.

3. American Fork - American Fork took a close second to Mountain View and narrowly defeated Riverton at their first major invitational of the season.  They were led by senior Jayden Fitzgarrald who won the race and Nate Jaster who was close behind in 5th.

4. Riverton - Riverton was just three points away from upsetting American Fork but they still had an impressive showing with a 44 second split between their 1-5 and averaged 16:01 for the 5K course.  They were led by Jake Seegmiller who placed sixth overall in the meet.

5. Corner Canyon - Corner Canyon had a big showing at the UIAAA Invitational a couple of weeks ago winning with an amazing score of 26 points over other top programs such as Lone Peak and Mountain Ridge.  Corner Canyon had a crazy 24 second split between their 1-5 and averaged 15:36 for the three mile course.

6. Desert Hills - Desert Hills has been dominant down south winning all of their meets so far this season.  Their latest win comes from the SUU Invite where they had a winning team score of 27 points and a 39 second split between 1-5 and averaged 16:10 for the 5K course.  It'll be fun to see them battle against some northern schools at the Murray Invitational this Friday.

7. Skyridge - Skyridge finished fourth at the Timpanogos XC Invitational and were led by senior Seth Wallgren who finished 13th overall in the meet.  Skyridge has had some rebuilding to do after losing the Thompson twins but they have managed to remain a strong competitor in the State.

8. Lone Peak - Lone Peak tumbles a bit after being upset by Corner Canyon at UIAAA and finishing 5th at the Timpanogos XC Invitational.  Jaron Hartshorn and Jeffery Shields have been their leaders so far this season and have performed well at big meets.  They aren't too far behind the rest of the field and I would expect them to bounce back at their next meet.

9. Davis - Davis was the runner-up to Farmington at the Top of Utah XC Invitational where they ended up with an overall team score of 63 points.  The darts place three individuals in the top ten and were led by senior Tyler Spencer who ran 14:31 over the short course at the Weber County Fairgrounds.

10. Weber - Weber rounded out the top three at the Top of Utah XC Invitational finishing just 14 points behind Davis. Landon Hart was their top performer who finished tenth overall and was the only one not wearing a Davis or Farmington uniform who finished in the top 10. This meet was a fun little preview of Region 1 and showcased the talent that has brewing for some time now!
