Seeded Boys Race
The 2019 Murray Invitational is officially over and in the books. It did not disappoint and we saw a slew of great performances and pleasant surprises. The season is beginning to take shape and every week we received a clearer look at what is in store for State.
In the team race, it was Davis
who came away with 75 points over runner up Farmington
who had 94 points. Skyridge
has come alive these past couple of weeks and at Murray, they finished 3rd just one point behind Farmington and upset Lone Peak
who finished 4th with a score of 141 and is currently ranked 24th in the country. West Torrance
of California rounded out the top five in 218 points.
Seeded Girls Race
The Seeded Girls race was close and came down to the wire as Lone Peak's Eliza Arrington
was able to out-lean Carlee Hansen
of Woods Cross
. Eliza is so far undefeated this season and is feeling good saying that she is feeling back up to speed after missing half of last season with an injury. When asked about the final straight away, running side by side with teammate Reagan Gardner
, Arrington said. "Honestly we've got telepathy, but seriously, having her there just propelled me forward. I don't know even know if I would have even gone for it if she wasn't there." When Eliza crossed the line her parents were telling her she had it but Eliza wanted to wait and hear the official results before believing it. Gardner came in 3rd and rounding out the top five was Elisabeth Ferrell
and Elizabeth Zwahlen
of North Summit
The girls team race was dominated by Lone Peak
who put its first five runners in the top 25 to earn them a grand total of 51 points. Farmington
wasn't too far behind finishing in 73 points while putting their top four runners in the top 25. Pine View
finished third overall with a score of 122 point representing the south well and Davis
rounded out the rest of the top five.
