Boys Shot Put
Last year we witnessed an unbelievable thrower out of Salem Hills, Talin Mortensen, who completely destroyed the field as he seemed to have no limit on his throws. We thought we'd never see someone of his caliber for a long time, but at the BYU Indoor invitational just a couple of weeks ago, Austin Carter of Beaver broke Talin's meet record in a throw of 59-9. Is Carter the second coming of Mortensen? Perhaps, but we'll want to see if he can deliver again to show that his first time out was no fluke.
