Wasatch & Murray Invitationals Preview

Wasatch Invitational

Olympic Skiing Venue; Soldier's Hollow, Utah

Who is #1? Bingham or American Fork? Known as one of the most difficult courses in the great State of Utah the Wasatch Invitational promises to be a barn burner. Settled in at 5,500 feet elevation only one runner in the past five years has broken 18 minutes over the difficult 5000 meter course.

The American Fork Cavemen boys, who have dominated early in the 2009 season will face most likely their most difficult challenge yet. A resurgent and determined Bingham Miners program that looks to be gaining ground. In the most highly anticipated match-up so far in the state. The question of who is number one should be settled here, making the Wasatch Invitational a meet of national interest.

Boys Prediction: American Fork wins by double digits

Girls Prediction: Bingham in a landslide

Murray Invitational

Murray Park, Murray, Utah

Who is #1? Park City, American Fork, or Davis? In what may be the best overall invitational of the year, teams set sights on the 32nd annual Murray Invitational. In what will be one of the best girls team matchups of the season, the American Fork girls have their eyes set on a rematch with Park City and Davis. The end result can only be a #1 overall state ranking with the Bingham girls avoiding the top competition by attending the Wasatch Inv.

The interesting matchup of this meet will be that of the Timpanogos boys team. A team that came out of nowhere to place 4th at the BYU Invitational will look to avenge losses to Davis and Pineview.

Boys Prediction: Timpanogos by a narrow margin

Girls Prediction: American Fork edges Park City by single digits
