Big Meets Around the State: Weekend Preview

 

Weekend Preview:

As the season moves on the meets are getting more intense as the athletes move closer to their peak form. This weekend has high potential to be the best week of the year thusfar.  There are several very big meets happening this weekend.

SUU- Southern Utah University will host their High School Coliseum Championship which begins tonight and continues tomorrow. A lot of good competition has been coming from southern Utah and this weekend should be no different.  You can view the meet website here and check back this weekend for meet recap and results.

Davis Invitational- The Davis invitational has become the biggest meet hosted by any of the high schools in the state. this year will be no different. Coach Talley said that this year could be the deepest the meet has ever been. View a full Preview Here

Tiger Trials at Orem High-  Utah County puts out some of the fastest runners in the country, year after year. This weekend Orem High host their Tiger Trials, and you can expect very fast times to come out of  Utah County this weekend as the conditions should be great and the competition even better.

Nyle Norris Invitational- Richfield will host the Nyle Norris Invitational Saturday and it should be another very good meet. Keep an eye on the home team as the Richfield Boys lead the state in the Medley Relay and Mika Mason is on the cusp of breaking 50 in the 400, which he has done before, but not this outdoor season.

Uintah Big Red Championships-  Look for big performances coming from every corner of the state. In Vernal, Uintah High will host their Big Red Invitational which will bring great competition including some from across the border in Colorado.

Morgan Pocket Change Invitational-  At the Morgan High track stadium there will be a great meet tomorrow. The teams from the north will be bringing their A-game at this one.
