Each competitor worked very hard this season. Records were broken, events won, but only a few came out on top. Here are a few athletes whose marks made them not only top in various meets and events, but also top in the season. We’d like to recognize these individuals for being incredible athletes of the season!
Large School Female Track Athlete of the Season: Brenna Porter, Jr. Sky View
Brenna Porter finished a very successful season with a personal best 300M Hurdle time of the season of 42.25 seconds at the 4A State Track & Field Championships. Brenna took the gold for Sky View in the 100M Hurdles and 300M Hurdles at state and also won 3 Athlete of the Week awards this year. With her senior season remaining she has potential to perform very well next year.
Large School Male Track Athlete of the Season: Cam Dopp, So. Woods Cross
Dopp had an exceptional race at state to finish off the season giving him the prestigious award of Athlete of the Season. He ran the 300 Hurdles in an incredible time of 37.88 which not only gave him the 4A state title but the best mark of the season.

Large School Female Field Athlete of the Season: Sarah Orr, Fr. Park City
This year’s large school female athlete of the season is Sarah Orr with her top jump of 5 feet 11 inches. She is a freshman going to Park City high school. Because of her age, she'll have more opportunities to do well in Track. We look forward to watching her next year!

Grant has had an exceptional season in the shot put and has received athlete of the week honors previously. He finished off the season with a state title in the shot put with a 54 feet 2 inches throw. These athletes both tied for the field athlete of the season award because they both had exceptional performances in the Javelin and Discus. Palmer who has had an incredible season consistently receiving athlete of the week honors finished up his senior season with first place in both the Javelin and the 100 meter dash for 2A schools at state.
