Who Improved the most in the Javelin?

For the boys, Rhett Nye of Morgan improved the most across both genders.  He threw 138-7 further then he did in 2021 which that distance alone can be a competitive mark. Rhett only threw once in 2021 and it was at a quad meet where he threw 8-9.  Obviously, you will be the most improved in this event if you start at 8-9 and work your way up to 147-4.  Nye was the Region 11 Champion and he placed 11th overall at the State Championships.

The next most improved athlete on the list was Nye's teammate Gavin DeWitt who improved 48-9.25.  Morgan swept the top four spots in the Javelin at their regional meet and only lose one to graduation. 

For the girls, it was Olivia Barton of San Juan.  Barton threw well during 2022 and her best performance came from the Pine View Invitational where she threw 95-9 and placed 10th overall.  Interestingly enough, Olivia is a freshman and had a mark in our database from her 8th-grade year.  Olivia is ranked 9th in the State ...
