Our first big invitational of the season is here and the field is loaded with talented teams and individuals.  Over 1100 athletes from 32 different teams will be in attendance.  MileSplit Utah will be on-site providing video and photo coverage.

Girls Preview

The varsity girls race will be the one to watch with seven ranked individuals and three ranked teams. The individual race will be fought between American Forks Avalon Mecham (#2) and Bingham's Natalie Swain (#4).  I would also expect Lone Peak's duo of Katie Bybee (#5) and Eliza Mason (#6) to be in the mix as well.  These four girls will set a quick pace at the start and it could come down to who has the better kick at the end.  Other Individuals who could be in that front group are American Fork's Avery Moore (#9), and Abigail Barlow (#11), and Lone Peak's Taylor Rohatinsky (#13).

For the team battle, we'll see our first head-to-head matchup of American Fork (#1) taking on Lone Peak (#2).  This will just be the start of what is sure to be an epic rivalry as both teams are hoping to claim the state title at the end of the season.  Corner Canyon (#9) will look to round out that top three and show why Region 4 is the deepest region in the State!

Boys Preview

The varsity boys race will be an exciting one to watch with some fun team battles and quick individual times! Jaron Hartshorn (#3) of Lone Peak is the heavy favorite entering this meet and he will be looking to start his junior year strong with a win here.  Another individual who could make their presence felt would be Jackson Henstrom (#9) of Corner Canyon.  Henstrom also had a terrific year on the track last season and he'll be looking to continue that momentum into the start of the XC season.

For the boy's team race, there will be three ranked teams in Lone Peak (#3), Corner Canyon (#6), and Mountain Ridge (#9).  This is the first race of the season for a good amount of schools that will be in attendance and it will help us be able to see a clearer picture of what's in store for the rest of the season.
