Morgan Senior Oakley Olson ran by herself for the entirety of this race and finished the outdoor 5000m in 18:09! Coming off her first individual Utah state title in the 800m last week, Olsen (who is generally a longer distance athlete) wanted to shoot her shot at an outdoor 5000m, and it did not disappoint as the Maryland native almost broke 18 minutes!
Oakley didn't need her pacer and instead put in the work herself and ran solid splits, which helped carry her for the fast time in her first-ever official outdoor 5000m race!
