WATCH: Carson Burian Buries 3200m Field with a 9:05.18

Rowland Hall senior Carson Burian was a one-man wrecking crew in the 3200m at the Alpha Invitational running solo from the gun and cruising to a new state leading mark of 9:05.18.  Burian was maintaining a sub 9 pace for a majority of the race and finished just a few seconds shy of joining a shortlist of Utah athletes who have accomplished the feat.

Brayden Packard of American Fork led the chase pack and even broke away from the field in the last effort to catch Burian, but the distance proved too great and Packard ended up just 15 seconds behind the meet winner in an official time of 9:20.95.  John Hunter of Provo rounded out the top 3 by finishing in 9:26.30
