Salute To Seniors: Josh Frame (Orem)

Want To Be Our Next Senior Salute? Find Out How!

School: Orem

What was your most memorable race/throw/jump/vault/moment?
My most memorable race was probably mt sac this past XC season. Being able to fly to California with our top 5 boys and our coach was a blast. Also as the last race of our season me and our other senior both PR'ed.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
The biggest competition was probably Mountain View. They are a great team and we had lost a lot of runners my junior year so I went into this year knowing I had to push our team if we wanted to beat them.

What was your greatest accomplishment?
Greatest accomplishment was Probably running 15:50 5K at the mt sac rain delay course Hahahaha.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
If I could change one thing it would be to have taken it more seriously through my first 2 years. I didn't stretch or roll or workout in the gym I just floated through the run and was gone.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
The most difficult obstacle was probably tearing my hamstring during jr year XC state championship and finishing the race. I was out for 6 months and I missed my jr track season because of it. It was tough to come back to my teammates so fast and me being so weak.

What will you miss the most?
I will miss my team pushing me to be the best person I could be. I'll miss early morning in the summer. I'll miss the way people look at us on our runs like we are from a different planet. I'll definitely miss purposely running into peoples cars that are pulled out to far at a light or a stop sign. Hahahahaha I'm going to miss my boys, they were my family.

What advice would you give to younger athletes?
"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift -(Steve Prefontaine)" you can't go through high school saying "oh I have 4 years or 3 or 2" you just can't because in a heartbeat it will be over. The biggest thing I'd say to do is never leave practice feeling like you didn't do everything 100% but that doesn't mean that all y'all can go tempo easy runs cuz that's the worst idea ever. Take it hard on hard days and take it EASY on easy days and you will see a difference.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
My coach has been a second dad to me and his wife a second mom. I Would be a different person if I wasn't for them and they have changed my life in a major way. I wouldn't change them for anyone else and I'll never forget the love they had for me for the rest of my life.

What are your college plans?
I would love to run in collage. I Planned on really getting to the collegiate level this track season but it was cut short. But I won't stop

Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?
My coaches and my family and my teammates for never giving up on me.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?
"That's the sound of us clapping cheeks  "
