Recruiting Rundown

Boys

Austin Carter - BYU

Austin Carter has made a statement thus far his senior year.  He threw better then anyone ever had and he's not even half way through the season.  Carter is currently ranked 5th in the country after his throw of 63-6.5 at UVU and he has decided to take his talents and strength to BYU!  Carter will join up with the likes of Talin Mortensen who was the king of throws last year in Utah.  Together these two can really make some noice for the Cougars!

Garrett Faragher - USU
Garrett Faragher will be joining up with a great number of other top distance recruits in Utah to run up in Logan.  Faragher ran well in XC and has been doing even better in track so far.  He almost pulled off a grand upset against two of the best guys in the state/country, Ryan Raff and Brandon Garnica at the Alpha Invite and he then went on to win the 1600m at the Nebo Invitational.  Faragher has proved he can hang with the best and he will look to challenge Raff again at the State meet in May.

Brandon Garnica - BYU
After the early sighing period, it became clear that Brandon Garnica was the best unsigned athlete heading into April.  Garnica has had a stellar High School career and there seems to be no limits to what this guy can do.  He is easily one of the most consistent runners in the state and his kick rivals that of the national champion and his future teammate Aidan Troutner.  Garnica PRd in all his XC events and has done that so far this outdoor season by breaking 9 for the first time in the 3200m at Arcadia.  Brandon who was an all-American at NXN, will compete this fall with an already loaded BYU team who looks poised to take home the national title.

Devin Pancake - USU

Devin Pancake is the 3rd Male Distance athlete to sign this year and the second to sign with Utah State.  Pancake will be heading up to Logan to compete alongside current teammate Caleb Garnica and they will help contribute to program who has been rising in the rankings these past few seasons.  Pancake has yet to race in an outdoor meet this season but in the indoor season he was on fire by being in the top 8 for the 1600m and 800m.  Devin who is arguably a more talented track athlete then XC will be one of the favorites to win the 800m individual State Title this May.
