Collin Morrison Training Blog: Skyridge Takes On Bob Firman

Skyridge squad traveled to Idaho for Bob Firman on Saturday

9/19: Monday - 60 min easy bike. Recovery. Not much else to comment on about this one, we're just recovering from the hard stuff last week.

9/20: Tuesday - Still recovery, swim workout. 350 warm up, 10 50's swimming the shallow and jogging the deep. Then 4 100's, 2 swim, 2 kick. Then 10 min aqua jog, 15 sec sprint every minute. 10 min cooldown. Also Dax (head guard) said I could dive off the blocks if I did 100 in less than a minute, haha I got 1:07. But I don't know how to do flipturns and I started in the water and it was after the workout so I think I could go under a minute given the chance... Lol next time Dax.

9/21: Wednesday - Bikes today! 10 min warmup, then 6 sets of 2 min easy, 2 min medium, 1 min hard. 10 min cooldown. It was still supposed to be a little more recovery from last week but I was able to put some good effort into it. I could definitely still feel the fatigue in my quads though...

9/22: Thursday - Elliptical, 10 min warm-up, 6 sets of 5 min medium, 1 min hard. 10 min cooldown. I went to an orthopedic specialist today and looking at my ankle with ultrasound, nothing was injured anymore. It's all healed. I'm going to start running tomorrow, the only reason it still hurts is because the joints in my foot and hip were locking up to try and protect the area so now I have to do exercises to loosen those up and I'm all set!

9/23: Friday - We drove to Idaho today and ran the course, I did one lap. It felt pretty good going slow and things are good!

9/24: Saturday - I woke up early to do a workout on the elliptical at the hotel, and that was 10 min warmup, then 4 hill climbs going up for 5 min and back down for 5 min. 10 min cooldown. I got a little bit of mileage cheering at Bob Firman, shoutout to everyone who raced, and huge shoutout to Guppy for getting 6th overall! Also to Chuck for getting a backpack! Good times.

9/25: Sunday - rest
