American Fork and Timpanogos both hosted meets this weekend, with great performances coming from both. At the American Fork Grass Relays meet, the top performers on both the girls and boys sides of the competition ran into the record books. Connor Mcmillan won the boys race and ran the #2 fastest time ever for the AF Grass Relays. His time of 9:52 is second only to Luke Puskedra, on a list that is stacked with some of the best talent Utah has seen in the the past 15 years. Mcmillan led the Cavemen to a #2 all time finish as well, only 2 seconds slower than last years team which ended up #2 in the country at NXN. Kramer Morton was 2nd on the day, and also ran a time good enough for #8 all time at the Grass Relays. Clayson Shumway of Lone Peak made his debut for the Knights. The Colorado State Champion transferred to Lone Peak for this school year, and immediately made an impact. His 3rd place finish led the team to a second place finish and 5th fastest time in Grass Relays history.
The girls race was also one of the fastest in history, with 4 teams running times good enough for the top 10 Record Board. Bingham led the charge on the back of a great individual performance by Marlee Mitchell. Her time of 11:51 was #4 all time, just ahead of Park City duo of Alyssa Snyder and Maddie Criscione. Their times of 11:53 and 11:56 are #5 and #6 all time.
At the Utah County Invitational, Lucy Biles of Herriman pulled away from Mary Chistiensen of Timpanogos, winning by almost a minute. Biles winning time was 17:41 to Christiensens time of 18:37. Christiensen Led Timpanogos to the team title with a score of 50 points over Herriman who came in with 65 and Mountain View who had 72.
The Timpanogos Boys also won on the day, completing the sweep for the host team. Mckay Mace led the charge for his team with a time off 15:55, which earned him 3rd place overall. Rory Linkletter of Herriman won the meet with a time of 15:32 over Sam Sorensen of Mountain View who ran 15:37.
