Utah Outdoor Breakthrough Performances: Week of April 13

Utah high school track and field athletes posted several personal records at meets during the week of April 13.

Cooper Shelton (Uintah) ran 11.44 in the 100 meters at the 2026 Uintah Underclassman meet on April 15, improving from his previous best of 11.80. The time ranks #144 in Utah and earned first place among 46 competitors. Shelton also cleared 5-7 in the high jump, bettering his previous mark of 5-6.

Izzie Lawson (Uintah) clocked 12.99 in the girls' 100 meters at the same meet, dropping from her previous PR of 13.37. The sophomore's time ranks #63 in the state and #7 among Utah sophomores. Lawson won the event against 27 competitors and also improved her high jump mark from 4-6 to 4-7.
