Utah high school athletes posted several personal records at meets during the week of April 6.
Below, check out the athletes who broke through this past week and will look to carry that momentum into a great 2026 season.
Mailey Rimmasch (Pine View) threw 149-9 in the discus at the Arcadia Invitational, improving from her previous best of 134-0. The mark places her fifth among 1,131 athletes in Utah and fifth among 43 competitors at the meet.
Jeff Hazard (Northridge) ran 8:58.11 in the 3200 meters at the Arcadia Invitational, breaking down from his previous personal record of 9:14.52 set in February 2026. The time establishes a school record for Northridge and ranks ninth in Utah among 1,104 athletes, with Hazard placing 46th of 182 competitors.
Caleb Brown (Herriman) clocked 9:09.31 in the 3200 meters at the Arcadia Invitational, improving from his previous best of 9:25.49. The senior ranks 25th in Utah among 1,104 athletes and seventh among 187 seniors statewide, finishing 103rd of 182 competitors at the meet.
Maile Mataele (Corner Canyon) threw 140-7 in the discus at the Arcadia Invitational, bettering her previous mark of 132-2.5. The throw sets a school record for Corner Canyon and ranks fourth among 1,131 athletes in Utah, with Mataele placing 10th of 43 competitors.
Leah Larson (Riverton) ran 10:49.66 in the 3200 meters at the Arcadia Invitational, improving from her previous personal record of 10:58.30 set in March 2026. The time ranks 18th among 733 athletes in Utah, with Larson finishing 81st of 125 competitors.
Grant Hejny (American Fork) posted 8:59.59 in the 3200 meters at the Arcadia Invitational, improving from his previous best of 9:13.58 set in March 2026. The time ranks 11th among 1,104 athletes in Utah, with Hejny placing 54th of 182 competitors.
Edward Stout (Taylorsville) ran 8:53.83 in the 3200 meters at the Arcadia Invitational, improving from his previous personal record of 9:07.42 set in March 2026. The senior's time establishes a school record for Taylorsville and ranks fifth in Utah among 1,104 athletes and third among 187 seniors statewide, with Stout finishing 34th of 182 competitors.
