The 2023 Penn Relays Carnival were held at the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
Looking back to the girls championship 3,000m, we saw Cornwall senior Karrie Baloga win with a blazing time of 9:20.75.
At the time of the race this was a U.S. No. 1, but with post-season competition, Baloga's performance eventually landed at the U.S. No. 8 position to finish out the 2023 outdoor season.
Baloga expressed in her post-race interview that she "wanted (the win) so bad...I wanted to go from the gun and just give it everything I had."
Baloga is now a freshman currently attending distance powerhouse Northern Arizona University. She finished sixth in the 800m at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 2:12.09.
The 2024 Penn Relays are on the horizon, taking place from April 25 through April 27, and is set to have some fast performances.
