With the release of the last Fast & Furious movie, these Utah highschool runners bring some real speed to the track!

In the 6A, several records were broken. In the 100 Meter, Amare Harlan of Fremont HS,  broke her own record with a blazing 11.43 final.  Andrea Amoah of Bingham broke 12 seconds as well with an impressive 11.92 runner up time.  In the boys 100 meter,  Smith Snowden of Skyridge edged out Gabe Remy of West Jordan, Snowden with a 10.59 and Remy right behind with a 10.60.   In the 200 meter, Amare Harlan broke her previous record again with a 23:30 final.  Andrea Amoah again was close behind with a 24:53.  In the boys final was literally a photo finish, both with 21.40 second final times.  Snowden getting the photo nod for first place. In the 400 meter final, Desirae Riehle won the girls side with a 57.38 final and the boys, Colby Anderson from Roy HS, finished with a 47.53.  

In the hurdles, freshman Weber High School, Joshua Hamblin won his first title with a 14:52, but barely beating Spencer Kirkham of Corner Canyon, another photo finish.  In the ladies side, Eden DeVries of Weber HS finished with a 14.03 which is another state record at this meet.  In the 300 meter, Spencer Kirkham captures that elusive first place finish beating out Caleb Doman of Lone Peak.  And in the ladies section, Nadia Chiara of Lone Peak, 43.64 beat out Madelynne Taggart of Corner Canyon with a 43.80 final.

In the 5A, Amari Adams of Murray dueled Kevin Doe of East for top honors in both the 100m and 200m.  Amari won both trophies, with a 10.53 in the 100m and 21.21 in the 200m.  Kevin Doe finished with a 10.68 100m time and 21.39 200m time.  In the 100m and 200m girls final, it was all Sarah Ballard, she took both events with a 11.88 100m time and 24.09 200m finish.

In the 400 meter final, Kellis Taylor of Mountain View took first with a 47.66 and Sarah Ballard completed the sprint sweep with a 55.03.  

In the hurdles, Easton Brotherson cleaned up on the 110 and 300 meter events, the Park City hurdler finished first in the 110m with a 14.14 and in the 300m he finished with a 38.03. The girls side had Udochi Okoro of Skyline HS taking first in the 110m with a 14.78 finish and Sydney Watson of Springville finishing with a 43.08 in the 300m.  

The 4A, Caidan Cooper of Dixie won the 100m final with a 10.75 finish.  Will Warner of Snow Canyon took the 200m with a 21.86 final.  Tate Walker as expected won the 400m with a 48.14 for Green River HS.  Sensational Snow Canyon freshman Amelia Nadauld swept the 100m, 200m and 400m on the girls side. Yes, she is indeed a freshman, get used to seeing her name.

In the Hurdles, Trevor Gough of Snow Canyon took both 110m and 300m first place hardware.  Samiyah Jones of Crimson Cliffs won the 110m, while Lucy Harris of Desert Hills HS leaped her way to first with a 44.88 300H final.  

In the 1A - 3A, notable multi-event winners in the  3A were,  Sprinter Lucy Tripp from Morgan, took the 100m and 200m and placed in the 400m. Hurdler, Malik Johnson of Layton Christian won both the 110m and 300m.  In the 2A, Travis Stewart of Kanab dominated the springs taking all three events.  Jada Crocket won both the 100m and 200.  In the 1A, Violett Taylor dominated almost all the events, taking first place in the 100m, 200m, 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles.  Ethan Hansen of Altamont dominated the springs on the boys side.  

There were some impressive performances this week at the State Final.  There are some young runners like Amelia Nadauld that we'll certainly be seeing again in future finals.
