Junior Elyse Jessen of Alta made her 400m debuts at the Snow Canyon Invitational and she performed well breaking 57 seconds in the opening meet of the season. Jessen is the defending 5A state champion in the 400m and she looks to be in good form to defend her title. Elyse only ran under 57 once last outdoor season and it was at the State meet where she won the overall race in a time of 56.12
