Senior Brilee Pontius was not quite ready to end her indoor season after running in the Jaguar Invitational Part 2 back in February. The Westlake star caught a flight to Virginia with a couple of her GMA club teammates to compete against the best of the best at the AAU Indoor National Championships.

Pontius competed in the 200m and 400m which are her main two events, and although she didn't come away with new PRs, she did come pretty close, running 25.54 for 200m and 56.90 for 400m. Brilee ended up 11th in the prelims for the 200m and 7th in the prelims for 400m. Her 400m placement was good enough to qualify her for the final round, where she stayed at 7th overall to earn herself All-American honors!

Brilee will finish off the indoor track season ranked top in the State for both the 200m and 400m, with her best performances coming from the Jaguar Invitational, where she ran 25.12 for 200m and 56.54 for 400m. The outdoor track season is finally underway, and Pontius has her sights set on some big goals for herself and her team for this season.
