NXN UTAH TEAM ABASSADORS
Since the inception of Nike Cross Nationals in 2004 the world of prep cross country has never been the same. With constant improvements in the system the powers that be have taken the NXN system a step further in their quest to develop what is becoming one of the moste xciting prep events in history.
Released this past week Utah State Ambassadors have been selected. These Ambassador's will provide the rankings and speak as the voice for our state to the NXN committee. The Utah Ambassador's will be former prep and collegiate standout Corbin Talley and 2008 Alta High coach Justin Pitcher. Talley and Pitcher will report to NXN Southwest Ambassador Jeff Guy on top stories from Utah.
Here are some important info regarding the SW Region:
* Wyoming will now be in the Northwest Region
* SouthWest will now have 9 State Ambassadors, 2 NM, 2 AZ, 2 CO, 2 UT, 1 NV (The second state ambassador for Utah will be named shortly)
*Awards have been expanded to top 21 in Championship and Open Race. Awards will be better quality.
* No Frosh/Soph Race. However, whichever race they run they will be awarded All Region Frosh, All Region Soph. Top 10 for both
* SW will have Nike Select meets for each State since we do not have a pre-region meet.
* Registration will be simplified. Championship Race, Open Race.
* Will not be any formal Rankings. We will rely on State Ambassadors from each state.
* The web site nikecrossnationals.com will be re-vamped.
* For the National Meet. Top 7 runners earn a berth and (new) 2 Coaches or Chaperones will go. No Kenyans and no 8th man race.
* Assignments - I need Top 10 Individuals to watch from each state and top 10 Teams by August 1st. Top 2 Meets from each state by Aug. 1st. Pick one as a Nike Select Meet for scoring points.
* Do you have CC clinic or rules meeting? When?

* Athletes that earn a berth to Nationals will be impressed with the new customized racing flats.
*Chelsey Sveinsson, National Champion has all ready committed to NXN.
