
Two meets shaped the news in Southwest region cross country this past week.

This week witnessed the running of the Utah state cross country championships. In view of that, I didn't think there was any reason to do a region-in-review article until those results were in. They're in now, so we move forward with the review.
For the most part, it was a very quiet last weekend around the region. Aside from the Utah State Cross Country Championships, the one glaring exception to that is the Rio Rancho Jamboree out of New Mexico.
Colorado was enmeshed in league meets that, to be blunt about it, failed to reveal anything new. Arizona's top teams have probably circled this weekend's Mt. SAC Invitational on their calendars and laid low this past weekend in anticipation of that.
