Region 4 Championships
Riverton High School played host to the Region 4 championships on Wednesday. The Riverton Boys made the most of the home track advantage, as the women couldn't match pace with a very strong Bingham team. Emily Rich of Bingham made a big contrubution to the Miners cause as she won the 800, 1600, and 3200 on the day. She did so in impressive fashion running 2:17 in the 800, and 5:09 in the 1600.
On the boys side of things, the Riverton boys sprinters had a great week last week at BYU, including a 4x400m state record. Clay Lambourne and Michael Bluth, both part of that 4x400 went 1-2 in both the 200 and 400 on the day. Brayden Mclelland of American Fork showed he is in great form at just the right time of the season as he won the Boys 800 with a time of 1:57.44. Its going to take a little more than a 1:57 to win state, but Mclelland has the talent and the coaching that he needs to be in the mix come next saturday.
