View full entry lists here

Boys 100m Dash- With the Woods cross boys on a high after their state record this weekend they will look for glory as they face a deep field including Sam Roberts, Seth Fortin, Kavika Fonua, Brandon Smart and Alex Walton.  Could be the fastest 100m in the state this season.

Boys 400m Dash- Trevor Leavitt of Davis is on his home track but finds himself in the middle of a Riverton-Woods Cross duel. Each team has three athletes competing. Keep an eye on the Riverton Boys 4x400 as well as they are looking poised to take down the state record at some point this season.

Boys 800m- Austin Brower of West Lake had a great performance in southern Utah two weeks ago where he set a PR in the 800 and 1600m. he will look to ride the fire on that one as he matches up against the Likes of Kramer Morton, Jackson Sagers, and Nate Marchant who have all run top 10 times in the state this season.

Boys 1600m- Head on over to the Davis website and take a look at the full list of entries in the invited boys 1600m. then you will realize just how deep this event is. Brower is doubling from the 800m, Ricky Faure of Rock Springs Wyoming is running fantastic this season. Kramer Morton is tough as nails. Tomy Gutierrez performed spectacular at Arcadia and could win it, the Davis Group of Williams, Cromar, Hedquist, and others will all want to perform big at home. Andrew Brewer of Bingham... it’s a toss up.

Boys 3200m- Although this one is also very stacked, Conner Mantz is learning how to win. He is only a sophomore and is looking better and better every time he races. Tomy Gutierrez, Mike Finch, Chuk Mitchell and the rest of the talented field will have their hands full trying to beat him out. Also keep an eye on Preston Johnson who is talented, on his home track, and looking for that big win in front of his family and fans.

Boys 4x100- With Woods Cross fresh off their state record, it will be a fun event to watch with Alta, Syracuse, Davis, Northridge, Weber, Sky View and Provo all on the track together.

Boys 4x400- watchout for Riverton. That’s all I have to say about that. We shall see if Alta, Syracuse, Davis or West Jordan have plans of their own.

300h- Sam Roberts of Alta is super fast. How does he compare to Jaxon Worthen and Mitch Mourdaunt? We will see tomorrow.

High Jump- Marcus Kemp and Marcus Daley are the top jumpers in the state and will match up in the HJ.

Pole Vault- Mitch and Mitch from Bingham will be at it again. With Mitch Kalinin leading the state and Mitch Robinson tied for 2nd they will be soaring as they meet up against Ben Schulthies and Andrew Tyndall.

Shot Put- Lavontae Calhoun of Jordan is dominating this season and Miller Crawford is right behind. Who can pull out the win? Maybe the home crowd favorite Ben Bracken of Davis?

Javelin- Austin Kafentzis is the state record holder in the Jav, and he wants to better that mark. With good conditions it is a definite possibility as he has been within inches this season of the record he set last season.

Girls Events to Watch for

Every girls event is just as stacked as the boys, but here are a few Key Matchups.

200m- Kaysha Love is making a name for herself as only a freshman. She will be put to the test as she faces Brenna Porter of Sky View who has the 2nd fastest time in the state this season.

800m- Shea Martinez is ranked nationally, finished 4th at the indoor national championships, and has run 2:09 outdoors this season. She has hardly lost all season. Sarah Feeny hasn’t lost much either. Fresh of a 3200m state record last weekend, it will be fun to see if she can find the shorter distance range to keep up with Martinez. Also keep an eye on her teammate Avery Calton who is a state champ and a soccer star and you never know what the multi sports athletes can do on a good day.

1600m- Davis stars Ellie Child and Taylor Cox match up agains Park City Stars Alyssa Snyder and Ali Walker in what should be a battle royale.

100m Hurdles-Brenna Porter is the favorite in most every event she enters. She will have to face up to the likes of Nicole Laws of Provo, Christine Van Brocklin of Davis, Tawnie Moore of Fremont, and more. It’s a deep field and anything can happen in a Hurdles race.

4x800- National Champions. Need I say more? Well Davis may be this season’s indoor champions but its outdoor, and Park City is on a tear. It will be a fun battle, especially if both teams run their top groups.

Long Jump- The name Brenna Porter keeps coming up. In the Long Jump she is one of the favorites as well, but Ann Wingeleth of Lyman Wyoming is just as talented and would love a win.

Shot Put- Kassie Nagel of Morgan is having a fantastic season and would love to improve on her state leading mark of 41’8.25

Discus- Nagel will be back in the discus throw, but will match up against Park City Javelin star Megan Glassmann.

Javelin- Megan and Chrissy Glassmann are dominating this event this year and Davis invite may be no different. Hanna Lunde of East will see if she can break up the dominance.
