Kalon Barnes Is A Machine At 100m
AUSTIN, TX -- Silsbee's (TX) Kalon Barnes ran a 10.04 (+3.2) 100m dash on Saturday at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Championships in Austin, Texas. The time is the new nation-leading all-conditions mark, just ahead of American Heritage's Anthony Schwartz, who has run 10.07 (+2.5) all-conditions.
Barnes, a Baylor University signee, is now a two-time 100m state champion after winning the 2017 state championships in 10.22. His 2017 time from the 100m is the UIL Class 4A state record.
The senior also won the 200m dash title later in the day running 20.55 (+2.8). He now has back to back Class 4A state titles in both events.
