This past weekend the Weber State Developmental Meet produced some great  performances. Here is a breakdown of a few of the top performances from a few of the events.

Girls 800m Run/1600m

In the Girls 800m Sarah Feeny of Ogden topped a great Mountain Crest duo of Brookayla Nelson and Tori Parkinson. Feeny’s time of 2:22.82 was nearly a full second ahead of Nelson. All three times put these girls near the top of the state through 2 weekends of meets so far. Feeny also doubled in the 1600m with a dominating win. Her time of 5:16.17 was 14 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. She must be looking forward to having some big competition in the coming weeks to see how close to that 5 minute mark she can get indoors.

Boys 1600m Run

Jordan Cross  of Ogden started his season off with a very impressive win with a 4:29.48. He beat out Ricky Faure of Rock Springs (WY) by .33 seconds. Conner Mantz of Skyview was 3rd at 4:37.82. Both Cross and Mantz also ran the 3200 and went 1-2

Boys 3200 Meter Run

This was a pretty stacked race with a lot of great talent. Jordan Cross of Ogden had a great day beating out the talented field and capturing a great 1600m-3200m double. He ran 9:30.21. Conner Mantz was 2nd with 9:33.32 and Jerrell Mock was 3rd at 9:42.89.

Girls 55m Dash

The Girls 55m Dash was certainly the closest race of the meet with Ivy Myers and Mackenzie Bindrys both running 7.73 and Lana Willard at 7.75.  Bindrys and Willard will both be looking for hardware at the UHSTCA Meet in Kearns come February. Myers also doubled back to win the Girls 200m Dash with a time of 27.36

Boys Long Jump

A few great marks were made in the Boys Long Jump. Both by athletes making the trek to Weber from Wyoming. Reno Averill of Star Valley edged Robert Wingeleth of Evanston by a mere half inch. There marks of 21-5.5 and 21-5.0 are the tops marks from a meet in Utah so far this year. The top Utah athlete was Jace Skidmore of Syracuse  at 20-1.5 which puts him in position for a great season.

BOYS SHOT PUT

The top marks in the Boys Shot also came from Wyoming as Cole Wilkinson of Evanston threw 47-03.5 for the win. The top Utah athlete was Tucker Hurd of Fremont at 45-10.5

Boys 55m Hurdles

Girls Shot Put

In the Girls Shot Maliya Crouch of Rock Springs took home the title ahead of a great throw by Weber High School's Johnni Arbon. Arbon’s throw of 34-0.5 is one of the best in the state so far this year and she could compete for a podium place at the UHSTCA Championships in a few weeks.

Girls 55m Hurdles

Tawnie Moore of Fremont ran a very good 8.86 in the 55m hurdles. She had the fastest hurdle times in the state in 2012 and has put her self in that position again to begin the 2013 season.
