Best Utah XC Performances in August

August set the stage for an exciting Utah cross country season, as several of the state's top runners delivered statement performances. From dominant wins to major personal improvements, these eight athletes separated themselves from the field. Here are the best boys and girls performances from the opening month of the 2026 Utah cross country season.

Girls

Maya Bybee (Lone Peak) | UIAAA Invitational Winner | 5K - 17:32.50

Maya Bybee had the best season opener of her career in a convincing UIAAA Invitational victory. While beating some of the best athletes in the state, Bybee also improved by 45 seconds from her first time on the course as a freshman.
