Jaron Hartshorn clocks State's fastest freshman 1600m!

This past Thursday night, freshman Jaron Hartshorn of Lone Peak ran a 1600m time trial and finished in a time of 4:20.93 (double verified by hand timer).

Jaron was paced by his older brother for the first three laps but ran solo for the last lap to finish with a new personal best!  It goes to Show that Jaron has kept up his training and would have done some big things had the State meet not been cancelled.

Hartshorn is still young and his time definitely puts him into an elite company of other guys such as Grant Gardner of Springville (4:21 freshman year) Conner Mantz of Skyview (4:22 freshman year) and McKay Johns of American Fork (4:23 freshman year)

Hopefully with the announcement of Club Track being permitted to start back up, Jaron can have another chance to break the 4:20 barrier becoming the first Utah high school freshman boy to ever do so!
