Easton Allred's high school running career has been nothing short of entertaining.

There's been ups, downs, and everything in between, but this week the Corner Canyon High School senior, who manages a popular YouTube channel, made sure it will continue to the next level, committing to Brigham Young University

While the No. 19 ranked recruit on MileSplit's top 50 prospects in the Class of 2020 owns personal bests of 3:52.95 in the 1,500m, 4:09.49 in the 1-mile and 9:08.34 in the 3,200m, Allred remains relatively fresh in the sport, with injury limiting his racing over the past two seasons.

He's posted PRs of 15:18.41 for 3-miles and 14:41.35 for 5K in cross country.

In committing to BYU, he also joins Corner Canyon teammates Caleb Johnson and Mark Boyle, who also committed to the Cougars.

All together, Allred's journey has taken him from Colorado to Utah.

This fall marks his third school in three seasons, with prior stops at Mountain Vista (CO) and Rock Canyon (CO). But his move to Utah didn't go immediately as planned, as the returning NXN All-American picked up a stress fracture before the season.

Allred made his name as a sophomore at Rock Canyon, posting a top 10 finish at the state cross country championships in Colorado before later earning an NXN berth, and his first All-American finish. He followed that spring by running the country's top sophomore mile in 4:09.49 and the class' eighth-fastest 3,200m in 9:08.34.

After a transfer to Mountain Vista, Allred had to sit out Colorado's regular season the ensuing fall. But he was eligible for national competition and was the runner-up at NXR Southwest. He finished fifth overall at NXN, posting a time of 15:05.20.

Injury followed that spring, erasing his junior track and field season.

And then injury came calling again before cross country of his senior year. After attending the Nike Elite Camp in July, Allred was out until October.

But in recent weeks he's been back, posting times of 15:18.41 and 15:35.90 for three miles.

Allred still has much to prove on the track. But he remains one of the more talented distance athletes of his class.
