How did you first get started running?

I first started running in 7th grade. I actually ran cross country and I started running track in 8th grade. I started running because both of my parents ran in high school and because I had played soccer my whole life and my favorite part was running around the field!

Why did you choose to be a sprinter?

I chose to be a sprinter because I liked it more than long-distance and my current coach recruited me to be a sprinter.

What do you remember about your first high school race?

I remember being a little bit nervous but I mostly remember being freezing because it started snowing right when I ran the 200m.

What has been your most memorable race to date?

My most memorable race to date was when I ran last summer in New York. I was so nervous but my coach told me he believed in me and when the race was over, I was really happy with the results.

What are some goals you wish to accomplish by your senior year?

I really hope to simply continue to improve and get more personal bests. One goal is to stay healthy and injury free so I can run all throughout high school.

What has been some good advice that you have received from your older teammates?

Emily Ellis always told me to run fast and turn left and that has become my motto for the 400m! Dominic Bentil was always teaching me how to have a positive attitude.

Were there any struggles adjusting to the high school level?

One of my biggest struggles was dealing with all of the stress that comes with big meets but my sophomore year has been a lot less stressful because I know what I am doing more and everything is all in perspective!

What kind of improvements do you want to make or things to focus on for your the next school year?

Nothing specifically but I just want to improve overall and get faster in all of my races!

What advice would you give to the incoming freshman for next season?

I would tell them to not stress too much and to just try their best!
