Boys


Luke Grundvig of American Fork took the win in the 3200m running U.S.#12 9:07.76

   

     Luke Grundvig highlighted the boys by winning the 3200m in a new personal best of 9:07.76 to rank him 12th in the country.  Luke ran well from the gun and took the lead just before the mile and never let up.  Luke is undefeated so far this indoor season and his performance at Simplot will give him a chance to run at NBNI. 



    Boys Sprints:    Braiden Ivie won the pre lims and finished 2nd overall in the 200m with a time of 21.88, Jace Jensen of Bountiful took the win in the 400m making that two in a row for him at Simplot in a time of 49.62.  Nathan Kaufusi finished 5th in a time of 50.42

    Boys Distance:    Along with Grundvigs performance in the 3200m,  Max Wehrli finished 3rd in a time of 9:39.07 after leading the beginging of the race and Corner Canyon's Mark Boyle rounded out the podium finishing in 6th with a time of 9:46.09.  In the 1600m, Jason Davis of Woods Cross finished 4th in a time of 4:24.88, and Dalton Brems of American Fork went 4:25.73 for a 5th place finish.  Boys 800m was Joe Corbridge of American Fork finishing in 3rd with a time of 1:58.25.  Corbridge was the 800m champion at Simplot last year.


    Boys Relays:     The Davis High Boys took the 4x800m Title in a time of 8:22.11.  Park City finished 5th in the 4x400m with a new State best of 3:33.31.  Syracuse was 2nd in the SMR finishing in a new State best of 3:41.52.


Boys Field:    Jonathan Holman of Springville highlighted the boys field events by winning the High Jump in a new personal best of 6-9.  That mark ranks him 7th in the country and first in the class of 2020.  Kale Thomas of Davis finished 4th overall in a jump of 6-5.   In the boys weight throw, it was Jake Asplund of Davis who threw a new State lead of 44-2.
