Breaking Down Utah's Top 5 Boys Teams Heading Into NXR-SW

#3  Timpanogos

The Timpanogos boys are hoping to qualify for NXN after coming up short last season.  They have an incredible amount of talent and have been one of the nation's top ranked teams all season.  Right now they are currently ranked 14th in the nation and 3rd in the Southwest Region.

Does need to happen.

Timpanogos has had a great season and their biggest win came over a fully loaded Springville team at Bob Firman.   If they can get back to racing like that, they should have no problem in making NXN.  All they need to do is run a good solid race, nothing crazy, but will still need to give their best effort.  Timpangos has all the right pieces that make up a podium team.  Great front runners in Brennan Benson and Ben Berlin, as well as depth.  They have the experience and the grit to get them on top.  They just need to compose themselves and not let the other racers get to them.  What matters most right now  for them is qualifying and in order to do that they just need to do what they've been doing for the majority of the season.

Can't happen.

They can't reflect on the past two meets that they've raced in.  They weren't bad but it wasn't what Timpanogos wanted.  In order to move on they need to let the past go and live in the present.  This could come down to the mental game for these boys which is scary but can also be strengthening. Timpanogos has a flame of passion for the sport and every race that I watched them perform in,  they ran with the most heart.  This will be the biggest and only challenge for these boys.  It will be interesting to see them line up with AF because these two schools did not see each other all season. It wasn't until the post season at the UHSTCA Pre-Foot Locker Invitational,  that we got our first good look at both of these teams in the same race.  Timpanogos was 20 points behind AF but this was just a little shake out race to use as preparation for NXR.
