The Utah State Aggies hosted their annual XC Invitational in Logan on Saturday morning. Salem Hills won the boys title, holding off Herriman by a mere 3 points.  Herriman Girls won by a very strong margin, beating Salem Hills 28 points to 59.

Lucy Biles won the girl’s race by a landslide.  She is a national caliber athlete that no one in the meet could keep up with from the gun. Even though she did it solo, she still managed to run a very impressive time of 19:21 for the 5k course. Her teammate Kami Hartley was 2nd in 21:11, with Shaylee Hill of Sugar-Salem (Idaho) coming in third in 21:23

In the boys race, Rory Linkletter led a good portion of the race, with Gavin Hasty right at his side. Linkletter tried to pull away but couldn’t shake Hasty. All the way until they crossed the line it looked as though Hasty and Linkletter could both take it. In the end it was Linkletter winning, beating Hasty 16:33 to 16:36. Though Hasty didn’t pull out the win, he did lead his team to the win over Herriman.
