The 2a State Championship had two very different story lines in the girls competition and the boys competition. The boys team competition was the Richfield show as they dominated the meet winning by over 100 points over North Summit with 70.5 points and Emery with 44.5. Capping off the team title, Richfield pulled out a very exciting win in the Boys 4x400m relay.

In the girls team competition, North Summit had a great meet living up to their top ranking and keeping Richfield from pulling an upset. It was a fairly low scoring championship, with North Summit winning with 95 points to Richfield's 79. North Summit's top performer of the day was thrower Kaitlyn Rowser who won the Shot Put and placed second in the Discus.
