Meet Information

Dear High School coaches:

We are very happy to invite you to our 18th annual Weber State University Developmental Indoor Track and Field Meet. The meet will be held in the Stromberg Health and Physical Education Center on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 18-19, 2013. The Friday portion of the meet will start at 4:30 p.m. with the boys and girls shot put. At 5:00 p.m. we will contest the boys long jump and the boys high jump.

As in the past, pre-entries are not needed. Simply show up! Competition on Saturday will begin at 9:00 a.m. See the attached schedule for the order of events. For all events, the girls will run first.

By not listing a time schedule, we will be able to move the events along as quickly as possible. We plan to complete the meet by 4:30 p.m. Athletes must be aware of the order of events so that they can be ready to report to the bullpen in sufficient time to be assigned to a lane and heat.

Entrance both days is at the southeast corner of the arena, east of the main entrance. Parking for buses and cars is in the lot west of the football stadium.

We feel we have a unique and fun format for this early meet. We will assist the athletes in forming competitive heats. All athletes must report to the bullpen, located at the north end of the arena, approximately 20 minutes prior to their event. They must listen carefully to all public address announcements to know when to report.

All field event marks will be measured and all track competitors will be timed. There will be no minimum marks for this meet! All field event marks and all track times will be posted. Results will be available to coaches as soon as the meet is completed.

Admission to the meet is $4.00 for everyone entering the facility. The admission ticket will allow the athlete to participate in one event. For each additional event, the athlete must purchase a $2.00 ticket. Friday night athletes, coaches and fans may show their stamped hand on Saturday and be admitted for $2.00.

We will be guests of the Weber State Health Promotion and Human Performance Department. They have instructed us to enforce some very important rules. No SPIKES will be allowed in the arena. Shoes that have spikes removed are not allowed on the gym floors. No food, drinks, chalk or spitting is allowed in the arena. COACHES: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ATHLETES ARE AWARE OF THESE RULES.

We need your cooperation to have a good, fun meet. It is of utmost importance that your athletes understand the format and the facility restrictions before they enter the building!
